As a portrait painter I aim to capture first and foremost a likeness of my subject, using expressive brushstrokes and a sensitive approach. Although I sometimes work from life I usually work from photos in my studio as many of my clients live too far to sit for me, and are often children.

I work in either graphite pencil or traditional contre crayon, or oil on canvas or board. I can advise on the most suitable medium for your portrait.
